3 Common Mistakes I See Business Owners Making

There are 3 common mistakes I see…
Nº 1.
Fail to Plan
What’s that old saying? Oh yeah — “I love it when a plan comes together!” But without a plan, nothing comes together. Without a plan, you can’t hold yourself and your team accountable, you can’t focus on your goals because you never set them in the first place, and you can’t drive your business because you don’t know where you’re going.
Every business needs a coherent vision to keep striving toward and a plan of action to bring that vision to life. What’s your plan?
Nº 2.
Put Off Making Key Decisions
Fear of failure and fear of loss keep many business owners from making key decisions when they need to. I have three words for all you out there who are guilty of this: Dude, (wo)man up!
Procrastinating always causes more problems than whatever you’re trying to avoid. Yes, sometimes you have to make a tough call. Yes, sometimes the decision you make could negatively affect someone else. Yes, you could fail or take a loss. But that’s life. That’s business. You fall down, you learn to pick yourself up. If you never risk falling, you never learn how to get up and get better.
Nº 3.
Don’t Control Costs
Do you know how much you’re spending? You probably have some idea of costs and have (hopefully) worked out a budget, but when was the last time you renegotiated fees with your vendors and contractors?
The best client is always a repeat client — if you’ve been working with certain contractors for awhile, it’s in their best interest to keep you on board and keep getting paid, even if it is for a little less. Make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck.
