Timing is Everything ~ When to Ask for Help

None of us likes to ask for help. It’s like an admission of failure, right? You can’t hack it, you can’t get the job done, so you need someone to come in and give you a hand. That’s what we think when we have to ask for help, isn’t it? That we’re inadequate somehow.
If your goal as a businessperson is to project an image of perfection and infallibility, then you definitely shouldn’t ask for help. But if your goals include growing your sales, helping your employees develop, and achieving success, then you should always be asking for advice. In fact, not admitting that you need help running your business and getting it back on track is often worse than letting
people know you can’t do everything yourself (which they probably already knew anyway). The best time to make improvements, whether they involve management, personnel, workflow, or operations, is when your company is stable. Bringing in outside help when your business is already in serious trouble is like closing the barn door after the horse has already escaped. Too little, too late.
Don’t let your ego get in the way of your success.
